waiting for mother
A painting i did today using Claudine Hellmuth's paints and brushes. i was honestly impressed by the creaminess of the paint, a small amount provided good coverage, even when I diluted it with water or medium; it's easy to tell that it's highly pigmented and very good paint. And the brushes were great, just the sizes I often use for the detail work, and I'm always on the lookout for good inexpensive brushes. My goals with this painting were: (1) to keep it simple and fairly sparse - a good challenge for me as my paintings tend to be pretty layered and busy for the most part - and (2) to use only Claudine's paints. It's good to give myself challenges these kinds of challenges I find - it's really so easy to slip into the way i usually paint. This was a pleasant stretch for me.
This is cute. I need to stretch more, too. It is just so easy and comfortable to fall back into the familiar pattern. Why are we like that? Different is GOOD!

I love this painting!
I've also used Claudines paints and do love their buttery feeling.
