a horse stealing a kiss from spiderwoman,
fabulous live music and even a little scary, scary here and there
journalfest exceed all my expectations and that says a lot as i was planning on having a really good time.
i took 2 classes from julianna coles, the spread above was started in one of those classes. i don't know if it's finished or not, finished for now anyway. in case you can't read the found word poetry, it says:
"rare and wonderful
summer season inoocently
withers the dancing girl
uprotected.
you would be bewildered".
I didn't choose these words but they were the ones that I had to compose from in this exercise. Interesting how words inform the painting and inform the painter :-)
i don't usually get very "halloweeney" in my journals, this is as much as it gets. another from julianna's class that i've been working on since i got back.
and this. journaling is so good for the soul. my soul is happy, and well fed after this experience.

The paintings are so moving. It was bliss. xo

Sounds like such fun and looks like it too! I have a friend going to Art and Soul in Henderson in February. She is a jeweler. Are any of the other teachers in collage, mixed media, etc., teachers you think I would like -- having taken your class in painting faces and Judy's in art journaling? Some of the names I'm familiar with and I've looked at some of their examples. I just can't tell from looking, so thought I'd ask you who you might recommend.

I broke clean out of the house
with some big bold heads
in haiku mind these days,
