To lead a 2 day "Painting with Passion" workshop in beautiful Malibu, California on May 7th and 8th. I would love it if you could join me there!
So here are the particulars:
Painting with Passion
An Exploration in Paint, Collage, and Poetry
2 Day Workshop in Malibu, CA
May 7-8 2011
*****************
Do you feel called to paint but you don’t know where to start? Do you feel a compelling desire to hear your unique voice and not just copy what everyone else is doing? Have you been painting for awhile but feel like your painting style has become stale or overworked? Do you want to learn to paint faces or to tell a story through paint and collage? If you answered yes to any of the above then this workshop is for you.
I will be your guide as we spend 2 full days together, learning to recognize the voice of our creative muse more clearly, following the “what if...” path wherever it might take us. Simple poetry writing exercises will be sprinkled in painting exercises and techniques which include:
How to paint a face my way
Ways to layer and incorporate collage papers into your paintings, seamlessly connecting the two
Background techniques
Telling a story with paint, collage, and found poetry
Learning to critique your work without being critical of yourself
Participating in a collaborative painting
